What the CheckIP service includes
CheckIP provides free network tools: your public IP address and connection details, IP lookup with location and whois data, a port scan tool, a DNS blocklist check, a website IP and server location check, ping tests, a proxy checker and an internet speed test. We also publish guides about IP addresses and networking. We may add, change or remove tools at any time without notice. Because the service is free, we do not guarantee that any tool will be available at a given time.
Acceptable use of the tools
You may use CheckIP for lawful purposes only, and only against systems you own or have permission to test. The following uses are not allowed:
- Scanning ports, probing or testing servers, networks or devices that you do not own or are not authorized to test.
- Using any tool to attack, overload or disrupt a system, including denial of service attempts and flooding a host with ping or HTTP requests.
- Testing proxies or credentials that you obtained without the owner's permission.
- Sending automated requests through scripts, bots or scrapers at a rate that exceeds our published limits, or trying to bypass rate limits, CAPTCHAs or other access controls.
- Using lookup results to stalk, harass or identify a private person.
- Copying or reselling our results or content as a competing service.
We may block IP addresses, limit requests or stop providing the service to anyone who breaks these rules. We may also report illegal activity to the competent authorities.
Accuracy of IP lookup results
CheckIP results are estimates based on third-party data, not verified facts about a person or device. IP geolocation comes from GeoIP databases and is often accurate to the country but can be wrong by tens of kilometers at city level. Ownership, ISP and ASN data come from public registry records that the owners update on their own schedule. Blocklist, ping, port and speed results show the state at the moment of the test and from our servers' point of view. Do not rely on CheckIP results as the only basis for legal, financial, security or law enforcement decisions.
Automated access and the API
You may query CheckIP from scripts and command-line tools, for example to get your own IP address, as long as you stay within the rate limits shown in our documentation. We may change these limits, require identification for heavy use or stop automated access to protect the service for other users. Requests that harm the service fall under the acceptable use rules above.
Intellectual property
The CheckIP name, logo, website design, code and written content belong to VPN TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS COMPANY LIMITED or its licensors. You may quote short parts of our guides with a link to the source page. You may share the results of your own lookups. You may not copy the site, its tools or its content in bulk. Third-party websites and services
CheckIP links to and connects with services we do not control, such as websites you test, map providers and blocklist operators. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
CheckIP is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any result is accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CheckIP and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of the service or your reliance on any result. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim related to CheckIP is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Vietnamese law or the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. We will first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussion by email. If a dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it will be submitted to the competent court in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, unless the mandatory law of your country gives you the right to bring the claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when we change the service or when the law requires it. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Continuing to use CheckIP after an update means you accept the new terms.
Language of these terms
These terms are published in English and Vietnamese (Vietnamese version). If the two versions differ, the Vietnamese version applies.
